Lucas Mill in action at Nicholson Park

Charlie and Heather Kennedy of Nicholson Park, near Clifton Creek are sheep and cattle producers of over 50 years. They’ve only ever experienced one other fire that threatened their farm gate – back in 1965.

The Kennedys were surrounded by fire in last year’s bushfires.

A unique partnership between DELWP, Rotary and the Lions Club to bring a portable timber mill to their property and repurpose timber burnt on their property is assisting them to rebuild farm infrastructure at no cost.
