Community Bushfire Connection – About
The Community Bushfire Connection has a number of program themes organized a pages in the home menu of this web platform.
The site has a governance model as follows
Steering committee
Made up of partner agencies and community members who oversee the structure and content of the site, seek resources to support its management and review its performance over time and approved any major structural changes or content updates
Site Manager
Responsible for day to day management of the site and response to manage any site interactions and regular upgrade and refreshing of content. The Site manager will work with designated content managers for each theme to refresh and update information and assist in upload onto the site.
Theme Content Managers
Responsible for coordination of new information and update of pages within their theme. Will seek page nominations and page leaders and be responsible for overview of all pages within their theme area.
Page Leads
Will assume responsibility for all content on their particular page and its regular upgrade, will work closely with the Theme Content Managers

This theme will include a range of pages telling the stories of Gippslanders regarding their experiences with fire, fire recovery and the environment. The theme will include some interactive conversation features. It will also include a Connection page with links to other related web pages and community groups
2) Community

This theme will include a range of pages representing CBBM General , specific projects and pages for particular communities who wish to participate on the site. It will also include a Connection page with links to other related web pages and community groups
3) History of Fire in Gippsland
DELWP Fire Engagement
(Theme Manager)
This theme will include a range of pages representing all of the major bushfire events in Gippslands history including pre European and pages on burning practices both indigenous cultural burning and planned burning. The theme will have a connections page with links to related sites
4) Fire Ecology
Federation University School of Science, Psychology and Sport
(Theme Manager)
This Theme will include a range of pages representing the latest research and thinking on the fire and its role in ecology. The page will include a number of feature ecological research programs including such things as New Holland Mouse . The theme will have a Connections page with links to related sites
5) Fire recovery
Recovery Manager DELWP Gippsland
(Theme Manager)
This theme will include a range of pages representing the various aspects of fire recovery , in particular programs involving ecological recovery. It will also include a Connection page with links to other related web pages and community groups.
6) Education
Federation University School of Education
(Theme Manager)
This theme will include a range of pages with materials and contents to assist educators in accessing material for teaching with relvant links to curricula requirements, suggested lesson plans and an interactive portal for teachers to share ideas. It will also include a Connection page with links to other related web pages and community groups
Evaluation
A key role of the site manager will be to monitor the sites usage and produce an evaluation report in December 2020 with recommendations to the Steering Committee on the sites future.

This program was been funded by the 2020 Bushfire Recovery program and the Governments Safer Together initiative.
A working group representing the following organisations has been established to deliver this program : Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning, Federation University and the Country Fire Authority however we welcome anyone who wants to become involved.
